About Russ

Russ Hanson is a proven leader with a strong track record of fiscal responsibility, operational management, and long-term planning. As Executive Vice President of the Associated General Contractors of North Dakota, he has spent nearly two decades leading one of the state’s largest trade associations, working with businesses, communities, and public partners to deliver results and manage resources responsibly.

Beyond his professional work, Russ values an active and connected lifestyle. He enjoys spending time on Bismarck’s trail system, golfing, and taking in local sports—from Twins baseball to Vikings football and Larks games. Time with family and friends is central to his life, and the parks and recreational opportunities in Bismarck play a big role in those experiences.

Russ believes Bismarck’s parks are one of the community’s greatest strengths. His focus is on maintaining and improving what’s already working, building partnerships that expand access and programming, and pursuing funding opportunities that protect taxpayers while allowing the system to grow.
